All proceeds from sales on this page, including excess shipping costs, will be sent to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund. More inventory will be stocked on this page as it is collected.
Moon Physics was founded to release a vinyl compilation by a band I liked called Carly Cosgrove and then, because of how the pandemic unfolded, evolved into something else. Moon Physics launched and remained a zero-profit venture. We donated thousands of dollars to various organizations and people, released art from creatives we enjoyed in Philly and beyond, set up a tiny distro of labels our friends ran, and were ahead of everybody else doing fingerboards.
This page serves as the final inventory of the label, including the distro side of things. Nearly everything we put out (aside from these amazing handmade toys, which were made to order) is up for grabs, including a nice crop top we intended to release in summer 2022.
Every order will receive a digital compilation I sequenced for this, called Infinite Balance. One song on here was for a tape release that never came out, but that's for the real fans to discover.
Moon Fizz started from a point of frustration and sputtered from there. I felt that careerist musicians, triple-dipping managers, and booking agents could all be doing more to organize around much more than just getting the latest DIY band $150 a night as the first of four. Obviously, the way music has been devalued to pennies per stream isn't the fault of whoever I'm typing this to, but you get my point. If you don't, nothing can save you from only doing the right thing when it is easy, far removed from the present, and hopefully, away from your commission rates.
Palestine isn't the only victim of genocidal campaigns right now, the U.S. is fucked up, and going anywhere costs forty dollars. I get it. But also, if you consider yourself punk, consider yourself a leftist, progressive, whatever...if you're reading this, you either feel like all this community and liberation shared in music (live or otherwise) is bullshit without solidarity, or you have a monkey clanging cymbals in your skull.
I pressed eject on being a C-list Twitter personality before it was hip, and I bowed out of music and disappeared for a while. Now that my head is on straighter and we've collected all this art, it's been nice to share it with you again.
All merch by the LVAC. All art by the respective artists.
With love,
J Cassar (and CB and Hannah, without whom this wouldn't have been as cool as it was)
